Four policemen were gunned down near a a coffee shop

When a police man saw three of his colleagues were shot he tried to shoot  gunman before  he  became prey to the bullets of of the culprit.All of them were Lakewood police officials The officers were identified as Sgt. Mark Renninger,39,officers Ronald Owens, 37; Tina Griswold, 40; and Greg Richards, 42.All had an experience of eight years in the police departments were parents of children.

"It is Lakewood’s saddest day,” City Councilman Walter Neary said.This sad incident occurred at about 8.15 A.M in the morning.All the deceased policemen were in uniform.The dead bodies were removed from the scene after nearly 10 hours and were taken to the hospital in marked police vehicle.Many audience saluted to the police officers during their last visit to the cremation ground.

Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said the four were attacked “without warning” in what appeared to be “an execution.”

Sheriff Paul Pastor addressed the media assembled near the scene.

“This is an example of the danger police officers, deputy sheriffs and state troopers face every day,” he said. The gunman not only “harmed us, he harmed the good we can do in the community.”Lakewood city leaders described the incident as horrible and assured to help the families  of the deceased. “The slain officers were all part of Lakewood’s initial Police Department start-up five years ago,” Mayor Doug Richardson and City Manager Andrew Neiditz said in a statement posted on the city’s Web site

The gunman gave no indication he intended violence when he walked into the shop, police and witnesses reported. Now the Lakewood police is in hunt for the gunman and interrogating several people.
